About: De-O-Ge Gear Dog Harness Coat Company
The De-O-GE Gear Dog Harness Coat design protects against cool or inclement weather while adding the benefits of a pet friendly harness. You won't find a dog coat that is easier to use. With the Harness Coat, two simple clips and the dog is ready to go. Our Harness Coat incorporates sturdy clip fasteners. We do not use hook and loop fasteners (like Velcro®) as they may sometimes, become worn and then fail. The use of the Harness Coat provides control of your pet without pressure on the throat. The Harness Coat can be used with or without your favorite collar or choker. There are many coats and sweaters on the market designed to provide warmth and fashion but they fail to work appropriately with a harness and they can be cumbersome to use. Some products do not easily allow your dog to relieve itself without soiling the garment. The Harness Coat is completely open on the underside. Our unique product design avoids rubbing or chaffing and is warm, lightweight and comfortable for the dog while providing a ring for quick hook up and release of a leash by the caregiver.
It is not recommended by the De-O-Ge Gear Harness Coat Company, that a dog be left alone or exposed to the elements for extended periods, while using this product.

4 Types of Coats
The coats come in a variety of styles and functions. There are 4 basic types:
|
|
Warmth Coat
We use two different types of fabrics for the warmth coat shells. Some are made of fleece, which naturally repels water and snow, the others have corduroy outers, both have faux lamb wool linings. This was our original coat, designed to protect your dog while keeping him comfortable, warm, and dry.

Rain Coat
All rain gear fabrics are water resistant and provide comfort to your dog when out in inclement weather, These coats are lined with 100% cotton flannel. They provide warmth without being too hot.
Water Repellency
Polyester and acrylic fibers are hydrophobic by nature. This means that they retain little water. With the technology of micro-fibers (fine denier yarns), these fabrics repel water by construction. Durable water Repellent or DWR, a semi-permanent substance, is applied to the surface of some mid-weight and heavy weight fabrics to further repel moisture.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: 1. What is a Harness Coat? A: A Harness Coat, as the name implies, is a dog harness and a dog coat, all-in-one. It is very simple to put on.
Q: 2. Why does a dog need a Harness Coat? A: There are many reasons dogs should have a Harness Coat:
- A harness has many features; it not only holds the dog safe and secure, unlike a simple collar, it also prevents undue pressure on the pet's throat, which may cause problems as the dog ages.
- Dogs need coats because they are typically kept indoors. When they go outside they face the same elements humans do and they need protection to stay warm and dry. Your pet will be less likely to catch a cold, which could be transferred to family members.
- Keeping your dog dry can have multiple benefits, for instance: your dog is more comfortable and your home stays dryer. For more benefits see
Rain Coats.
- The Harness Coat is one unit and is very easy to use.
Q: 3. Do you have one to fit my dog? A: The Harness Coat comes in 13 sizes. It fist dogs from 3 lbs. all the way up to 200 lbs.
Q: 4. How do I measure my dog? A: You can often select the proper size Harness Coat, by simply using the dogs weight. To measure a dog properly; measure the girth, right behind the front legs. The second measurement, the length, should begin at a point straight up the front leg to where it intersects with the backbone. From Here, measure back to the beginning of the tail.
Q: 5. Is the Harness Coat washable? A: Yes, it is. The washing instructions are on the inside of the label. Most of the coats can go right in the laundry on warm wash, gentle cycle. Do not use liquid softener. Dry on warm, permanent press cycle. The rain coats should be air dried.
Q: 6. Which style would be best for my dog? A: The style you choose is up to you. We have four different choices: For the individual benefits of each, please click on the different types.
Q: 7. How do I purchase one? A: To purchase a Harness Coat you can either order right here on line, or you can call, mail or fax in your order. We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover Card.
